Hello,
Can someone help me please!
I accidentally formatted my Garmin Nuvi 1300
when it was connected to my pc.
When I go to garmin website and click
'update software' button it tells me no
garmin device connected.
(...I expect this is because it now contains no
files).
I contacted Garmin support and they said as
it is out of warranty I will need to send it back to
them for repair in UK (I'm in Dublin) at a cost
of 30gbp- and this will only repair it with old
outdated maps!
Is there another way I can restore it so
that it will be recognised on Garmin website
and I can buy the latest maps?
Thankyou.

The first question is whether or not you have a full backup of your unit? If you do, then just do a reload of the backup.
No, I do not have a backup.
No, I do not have a backup.
Garmin may be ..
Garmin may be your only option.
How did you format it by accident? Formatting is not easy to get to.
I had both a USB drive and
I had both a USB drive and my Garmin plugged
into my PC. The reason I had my Garmin
connected in the first place was to buy new maps!
I meant to format my USB drive but
accidentally picked wrong drive letter.
.
Without a local backup on your computer, Garmin is your only option.
It may be more advantageous depending on your situation and the out of warranty repair fee to simply purchase a new unit on sale with the Lifetime Maps included.
Search
Go on Google and type garmincure3.
Others have been successful.
Good luck.
