where do you past the bpm. file on the Garmin?

I been seeing a lot of bpm. files added to the POI's, where do you past the file in the garmin, what folder? thanks for your help...

Not sure I understand exactly what you are saying but ...

I think you are asking where to place the custom bitmap (BMP) files when trying to load them as a Custom Icon with your POI file.

Is that right?

If so, you need to place the bmp file in the same folder with your POI file on your PC. (Not on your GPSr.) The bmp needs to be named EXACTLY the same as the POI file.

For example, starbucks.csv and starbucks.bmp

Then run POI Loader and the bmp should be loaded as a Custom Icon for your POI file.

Does the 340 work with bmp

Does the 340 work with bmp files? I tried doing as you instructed and I noticed no change. The destination still shows up as a checkered flag.

.

I'm not 100% sure whether it works with the 340.

Checkered flag? Well, the destination is always going to show up as a checkered flag. What about the POIs on your map screen when you are not routing? Zoom in some and see if they show up with the custom icons.

The only time I see the

The only time I see the POI's is when I choose one as a destination. How do I see them at other times?

.

Again, I'm not 100% sure about the custom icons working on the 340 (hopefully someone else will pop in who is)

Go to your Custom POI list on your GPSr.

My Loccations > Custom POIs

Select one of the locations for which you have loaded a custom icon. Select "Map". Look to see if the icon shows up.

Or try browsing the map and zooming all the way in on the map in the area where you have an icon loaded. See if you see it there.

On my 330 they show up, but

On my 330 they show up, but you must be zoomed in to see them and I use the "Most" detail on mine. If you select the P.O.I. and then select "Show Map", you should see the Icon - my 330 does, so can't imagine why the 340 wouldn't. Hope this helps..
