me too

Yea, I also stole a GPS receiver. Tell us how we can defeat this "feature".

just go to the location where you were at when you set the pin

That's easy, just go to the location where you were at when you first set the lock pin and the unit will unlock automatically with no pin needed and you can turn the function off then. rolleyes

While I'm not trying to help anyone with a stolen GPS, I can tell you that being at the location where I first set the PIN on mine does not work. That would be at my house. I turn my GPS on every day before I leave home and it requires a PIN. As I would want it to be.

Depends

It depends on what you expect. If you walk out the door, put it in the vehicle and power it up, no, it won't unlock if that's your security point. It has to lock onto the satellites first, then it will be treated as any regular POI with an along the route alert so it activates when you are within about 75 feet of the location.

Sure it works.

But you have to be at the right location "at your house".

Lock Location Question

Wow, learn something everyday. Question though about the setting of lock location. If you set a lock location at your current home and then later move several states away, can you turn off Garmin lock and then turn it back on to set a new lock location?

Sure if you know.............

The Home location or the lock pin. If you know the lock pin you can change/set home to any location you wish.

Thanks for the reminder, I

Thanks for the reminder, I have to reset my security location. I set my pin a long way from home!
