Nuvi 680 & MSN Direct service issues

I have been having a problem with MSN. It seems that if I don't use the GPS for a day I have to re-activate my MSN account. When I was recently in Seattle this was not an issue.

I spoke to MSN this morning. The tech said they are aware of the problem here in NYC. The way he explained it is because there are 3 regions that overlap here. NYC, Westchester and (1 in Jersey), so the MSN receiver gets confused.

I would have thought that they would have had this worked out by now. I think it is ridiculous that I have to re-activate the service so I can use it, but not find out that it requires reactivation until you are already on the road.

Has anyone else experienced this either in the NYC region or other parts of the country?

MSN DIrect Service Issues

I just started having the same problem with MSN on my 680 in the Detroit area. If I try to access the MSN pages I get a message that my account is not activated, yet when I log into the website and attempt to activate the account I get a response that the account is active.

On the page you get that

On the page you get that says your account is already active, you will see the following:

"Your service is already active
Our records show that your device is active and that you should be receiving data from MSN Direct. If you are not receiving new data on your navigation device, you may need to reactivate your device. "

At the end of this paragraph the words "reactivate your device" is a link, just click on it to reactivate.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As a follow up, I called MSN again this afternoon, and this time the fixed my location in their computer as my home zip code. They also fully acknowledged that there is an issue.

I would urge you to call their tech support and open a case with them. Their support # is 866-658-7032. I suggest you keep track of the date, time, name of the tech and the case #. The more we call for this issue, the quicker they will escalate it up to the top of their priority list.
