Lifetime Map Updater for Mac

Seeing that it's getting close for another round of Lifetime Updates... I fired up the updater and it updated itself... so, fellow Mac users, update your Lifetime Updater before its needed to fetch your Lifetime Update. smile

Thanks For The Reminder

Hmmm, thanks. Should keep all of your software updated.

OK.....so where the heck am I?

Garmin Express works

I installed Garmin Express on my iMac. It replaces all the other upload software and lets you keep up to date on multiple units. I can now keep track of the three units in our family. It updates firmware, maps, and extras. It will also check without the unit being plugged in which is a big plus for me. So far it has worked fine, we'll see what happens with the next map update.

I've gone that route as well using Express now.

Backup Files

I'm using Express too, but have not been able to locate where on my computer the app stores the backup files. Anyone know?

~/Library/Garmin/Express/RegisteredDevices - if you have multiple devices, there will be a subfolder for each, and within that, another subfolder for backups.

Thanks for the info. Express apparently isn't backing up my 3490. There is no such file in my Library folder. When I click on the Backup Now button, the process bar only works for a couple of seconds.

The folder is in ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Express

The folder contains only 12.8mb. I would think it would contain 5.7gb since that's the size of occupied storage in the device.
