Newby question (where are the POIs on my GPS?)

I just found this great resource and loaded a custom POI file to my Garmin Nuvi 40 using the POI loader program. It seemed to load fine, and I can see the file in the Garmin. However, I can't seem to find the actual POIs when I look for them. Are they stored in a certain category (restaurants, entertainment, etc)? They are not under Favorites. How do I search for them on the GPS? Thanks for your patience here...

Look in Extras

Welcome to The Factory.

Try Extras for your Custom POIs.

Yep

Where To -> (down button) -> Extras -> (whatever you named the file).

POI's

Hi all smile

Ok I loaded some POI's, then went to extra's and it pops up a meggage "no extra's loaded visit www.garmin.com"

What did I do wrong ?

The info only applies for the Garmin GPS.I see you have two different brands.Welcome to the site.The 1450 can use only sox.exe and wav files for voice alerts.

Hi

Thanx I got it works fine now. I'm using a Gamin nuvi 1450 LMT right now.

I also added the red light and speed cameras so I'm set.

For some reason Garmin does NOT have a POI just for parks. Since we go to parks all the time this website is a lifesaver. Plus all the other available POI's, I'm in heaven.
