I wish celebs would offer their voices for navigation devices (even for a fee). These would be my 5 favorites:
1- Gordon Ramsay (including expletives)
2- Alec Baldwin (includes rants for wrong turns)
3- Ozzy Osbourne (including expletives)
4- Paul McCartney ('nuff said)
5- Julia Louis-Dreyfus (in the voice of Elaine Benes, of course)
Who would be your top 5?
I have 4
I'd have to think a while for a fifth, but I wouldn't mind these four guys...
Patrick Stewart
Martin Sheen
James Earl Jones
Morgan Freeman
The Moose Is Loose! nuvi 760

Try these sites.. you will have to pay for them but sometimes you can find a free one in there!
www.pigtones.com
www.navtones.com/voices/garmin
www.gps-creative.com/garminvoices/
Bobkz - Garmin Nuvi 3597LMTHD/2455LMT/C530/C580- "Pain Is Fear Leaving The Body - Semper Fidelis"
Just be aware
that most celebrity GPS voices are non-TTS ... they will not speak street names. So you get
"Turn left in 500 feet" instead of
"In 500 feet, turn left on Maple Boulevard".
Alan - Android Auto, DriveLuxe 51LMT-S, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, Nuvi 3597LMTHD, Oregon 550T, Nuvi 855, Nuvi 755T, Lowrance Endura Sierra, Bosch Nyon
Thanks this is cool.
Thanks this is cool.
Same Idea
I thought the same thing. It might be cool having a celebrity tell you where to go.
I'd like Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz, and Jennifer Aniston.
Joe Pesci
Joe Pesci
Good choices
Clint Eastwood in his prime, too
Want them in a thumbnail too in the corner of the screen
Julia Roberts or Jane Seymour

How do you know what he is saying?

Lee Elia
Lee Elia the 1983 Chicago Cubs manager, for those that don't know him, he went off on the "bleacher bums" way back when.

I'm about 99.9% sure I picked up some malware from one of those sites. I guess my virus software wasn't doing it's job. The reason I'm pretty sure I picked it up from one of them is I had been surfing for an hour or two before I went on those sites and almost immediately after looking at the last one a program called oiu asked for permission to access the internet. When I closed my browser most of my desktop icons were missing. I thought I would do a restore but all of my system tools were also gone. I booted in the safe mode and ran some virus scanners. They found some of the files but apparently not all of them. What saved me was a few months ago I downloaded Macrium Reflect and imaged my hard drive. It worked like a charm but I will be missing some programs I installed after imaging my drive. From now on I'm going to keep the image up to date.
Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
Proceed With Caution

FWIW I just tried hitting pigtones.com from my throwaway VM and it set off the antivirus (Avira free).
not necessarily top 5...
...but they'd be interesting nonetheless
Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer (Simpsons)
Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad)
Mel Blanc or Mel Blanc Jr.
For Mel Sr. they'd have to take samples from existing work. Any of the above could provide a dozen different voices all in the same voice file.
Yeah

Yeah. While a novelty, it's also a leap backward. I often need to hear the street name.
I think these would be cool
Elmer Fudd
John Cleese
The Church Lady
Howie Mandel's little child voice
Vocies
A few come to my mind...
Bill Hader ("Stephan" from SNL)
R. Lee Emrey ("GSGT Hartman" from Full Metal Jacket)
John Cleese
Tony Sirico ("Paulie" from The Sopranos)
Garmin Drive Smart 61 NA LMT-S
Voices
1) Alan Rickman as Severus Snape from the Harry Potter series
2) Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard
3) Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump
4) R Lee Emrey as Sgt. Emery
5) Clinton Eastwood as Dirty Harry
Snoop
Snoop dogg
And now for something completely different!
John Cleese.

How do they do that?

That raises an interesting question. How long does it take a voice actor to put together a TTS/street name sound file? I assume they're recording just phonetic sounds that the GPS can string together for street names in addition to the side comments, but still, I wonder how long it takes and how boring it is.
Sgt. R. Lee Ermey--and that's how he spells it by the way--(he'll be along to make any disrespectful numbnuts who can't get that spelling straight drop and give him 20 ;-)--would be my choice as well. I've seen a celebrity impersonation GPS voice file for him, but I didn't think it sounded like the real Sarge.
JMoo On
hmmm
How about Sza Sza Gabor
Navtones
I tried a navtones voice. it changed the routing and didn't say street names, just turn left or right.
