eTrex HCx not seeing Garmin SD card

Here is an odd one I can't find the answer to...
I have a Garmin City Navigator Europe NT Micro SD card. Works perfectly well in my Zumo and Nuvi. I have been trying to use it in my eTrex HCx and cannot get any detail when zooming into Europe while it is installed.
I have already tried the following:
- Updated all firmware
- Checked to make sure the maps show up under Setup>Map>Info on the unit. Lots of maps of Europe and they are all checked
- Checked the card on Basecamp using a card reader. All the detail shows up nor problem.
- Double checked in my other units. Map detail show up fine.
What am I missing here?

Two thoughts
I don't know if this'll help, but I'd check the following:
In addition to having the Europe Map selected (as you've already done), see that other maps are unselected.
If the eTrex has a map detail setting, set somewhere from Normal to Most and see if added detail is visible.
Let us know what you find when you do resolve this.

Got it! Did a master reset of the unit (power up holding down page key, and "stick") and all is good.
