GTM 60 traffic

Is the traffic recieved with the GTM 60 much better than than the 3d traffic? I have a 2595lmt with 3d traffic and am considering geting the GTM 60 Antenea which will give me the 3d digital traffic. wondering if it is worth the $ 70.00?

From my research it's all

From my research it's all the same Navteq coverage and no difference in the coverage area itself. Instead I think it's all just marketing hype about the frequency of the traffic info updates to the device. Overrated in my humble opinion particularly since it only covers major metropolitan areas.

GTM 60

You may also want to consider purchasing the optional Clear Channel (Total Traffic) subscription as an addition to the free Navteq traffic that came with the unit. I have both installed on my 2595 (GTM 25 receiver) and between the two of them, I get pretty good updates. With two services installed, the unit constantly scans the two of them for the strongest channel in the area and locks on to the best one. The table of stored channels on mine shows about a 70/30 mix of channels (about 14 total) with Total Traffic being the majority. In some areas Navteq is better and in others it's TT that provides better coverage. I'm happy with this set up. It has its limitations, but when it's receiving timely info, having the option to detour in advance of the problem with just a couple pushes of the button is nice.
