GPX files

I cant read GPX files. How can I change the POI to CVS. I have a PC Windows 7

Thanks for the info. I'll try that. Why can't the files be in CVS or TOM TOM not GPX (royal pain) I need to download all the truckstops Love, TA, etc. but it only in GPX file.

Try this

Try EPE it can change one a GPX to CSV file. You can get it at http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor

@Diane

@Diane: Ignore me...too late at night and I shouldn't be reading. smile

EDIT: Original post removed.

It can also just read the GPX file. You can also read a GPX file using Windows Notepad but it's not formatted very well.

Nuvi 350, 760, 1695LM, 3790LMT, 2460LMT, 3597LMTHD, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, DriveSmart 61, Garmin Drive 52, Garmin Backup Camera 40 and TomTom XXL540s.

Try MS Excel

Most but not all can be opened in excel, then you can move columns to the correct order for a CSV file. the order is Longitude -- latitude -- comment -- coment. CSV files only use 4 columns. Alt + enter gives a line break within a cell

@Diane

Are you trying to read them with windows 7? or do you mean you can't read them (put them on the gps)?

GPX file generally have more info in them and are also set up so you can dial via bluetooth.

You can use EPE to open the file and then you can convert it to a csv file which can then be opened in notepad or excel.

Nuvi 2460LMT.

no need to convert

There is no need to convert from one format to another if all you are trying to do is load the locations into your GPS. POI Loader reads both but as others have stated the GPX version provides more information and has more features than CSV.

He mentions Tom Tom

So you shouldn't assume he has a Garmin...hence the need for the .csv file format.
