As I filled my gas tank today at $3.23.9 cents a gallon I wondered what happened to the $5 "DOOM & GLOOM" prophesy to come?.
As you GPS people transverse the USA today I want to inform you of how much in federal and state taxes you pay in each state for each gallon not effected by the Wall Street Speculators. This is cents per gallon.

Yes, it is, they get the same 10% dilution that the US does. You`d be hard pressed to find `regular` grade gasoline that doesn`t have ethanol in it - even Quebec, which Esso/Exxon doesn`t include in it`s list of provinces that HAVE ethanol, now has tha crap in it`s stations.

Canadians look to New York as a haven from Canadian rip-off pricing - and upstate New York gets IT`s fuel from Canada.

2008 gas prices
I call BS... Major BS. There are a few more circumstances involved since the current President took office. Speculators are merely one of them.
As I remember, 2008 had the highest gas prices in history. Who was in office then?
Gas price plunged throughout 2008 and during Dec 2008 the price per gallon was $1.61. On Jan 20 2009 the price per gallon was $1.86.

Regulations are comming
There will be a change coming Sept 1 when Frank-Dodd regulations kick in and speculators will be limited to the amount of money they can speculate on certain products. This one of the bills that the Republicans want to reverse.
This "should" stop some of the wild swings in oil prices whenever the news media starts exaggerating the news.
The only reason
speculators are speculating on higher pricing is because there is not enough supply in the supply & demand equation.
The Keystone pipe line would have gone a long way in fixing this.

According to Lundberg: The rising U.S. dollar helped lower the cost of gas in the U.S. earlier this summer. Retail prices bottomed out at the end of June, but now they're heading back up. The price of U.S. crude has risen nearly 13 percent since late June. Iran has renewed its threat to close the Strait of Hormuz.
