first off

Welcome to the site.

As you are a new user, I recommend you do some things first. First off, do a backup of your unit. Make a copy of ALL the software on your unit and store it someplace you won't delete it from the computer. This is just in case - and it happens a lot more than people want to admit - something happens and you need to restore your unit to a known state.

Secondly, read the FAQ files. There's a lot of great information in them, including the answer to your question. But I'll save you some time. From the main menu there is an icon labeled Extras. Press that, then Custom POI. Your downloaded POI are here.

Now, have fun and don't be afraid to ask questions, we do give answers but also point you toward previously given answers for the same or similar issues. That's why we say READ THE FAQs.

Do what Box Car recommended first.

Then let us know how you "downloaded" POI files to your GPS. You have to use POI Loader to complile the POI files (usually .csv files) into .gpi files that your GPS understands. Is that what you did?

GPS poi files.

hello thanks
to box car i will do that.the POI loader. i have it on the GPS.its in the extras. it reads custom POIs.
when you open it up there is stuff there but not all of it. i do have the POI loader on my computer to. how do you get it to them? i no ill get this some day to work thanks bob

Can only view some of them

The way Custom POIs work on the Garmin is that you can only view the closest 50 "locations" of the file you are looking at !

Did you use POI Loader?

You cannot "[download] 2 files to my gps" and expect them to become navigatable POIs UNLESS the files were .gpi files.

Usually, we download .csv files to a folder on our computer and then use POI Loader to compile those .csv files into a .gpi file which POI Loader places in the (nuvi)\Garmin\POI folder.

Is that what you did?

GPS download

Some folks have found a missing or corrupt .NET Framework to be the problem:
