Garmin released version 6.30 for the 34xx series.
Change History
Changes made from version 6.20 to 6.30:
Fixed a bug that caused Safe Text to malfunction.
Fixed a bug that caused the unit to display ASR messages on non-ASR units.
Fixed a bug that caused subcategories not to appear with certain custom GPI files.
Funny thing is, the Fixed a bug that caused subcategories not to appear with certain custom GPI file has now appeared. I always had subcategories with my poi files. After installing this update, I now do not have the subcategories. I guess I will call Garmin tomorrow.

Nuvi 34xx Version 6.40
What a mess with custom POIs!!!
My POIs were working fine when I upgraded from 6.20 to 6.30.
Then it began:
- Subcategories are not listed
- Icons do not show up
They bring out an update that they say 'fixed a bug that caused subcategories not to appear with certain custom GPI files'.
Which really just does the opposite.
The update to 6.40 does not address this problem!
Don't try it. It will not help.
So what now:
As I am leaving for vacation next week and I need the GPS then there was nothing else I could do to downgrade to 6.20.
I got the old firmware from here:
http://www.noeman.org/gsm/garmin-receivers-firmwares/230492-...
To restore it, I simply dragged the file on the WebUpdater program icon.
As this does not seem to work with the Mac version I had to use the Windows version.
Now the subcategories are there again.
All POIs are there. That fixes my immediate problem.
But I do hope Garmin does correct this with the next update!
Kurt
re-Finally
I tried the samething as chtiklim but I'm not successfull for the 2595.
I'm back again to 6.20.
Garmin is going to deny that
Garmin is going to deny that firmware version 6.30 broke Custom POI by sub-category on the following units 34xx, 35xx, 24xx and 25xx series until enough Garmin users call them or email them to tell them to fix it soon.

Frimware 6.20 or one that works...
Does anyone know where I can get this? Seems to be harder to find. BTW, it is for the NUVI 2455LMT, Thanks in advance.

finally Garmin has
finally Garmin has acknowledge that they are working on a fix for the sub-category of the POI's:
Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I would be happy to help you.
We are aware of this issue and are working towards a resolution. I do not have an expected date at this time for a fix.
Please check WebUpdater for software updates as this is how the fix will be released.

Thank you UZA_Dave
I have down graded from my Nuvi 3760 today to a Nuvi 2455, loaded the POI's and bugger me they looked a mess, your work round worked like a charm, so it's a big thank you. I'm hopping the speed cameras still work as they did.
I broke the screen in the Nuvi 3760 so no more glass screens for me, in fact the plastic screen is very good, it nice and clear and works well, reminds of my old Nuvi 660.
Took a TomTom 2050 for a test drive, it was good, I loved the traffic, the beep when I went over the speed limit which I set, the weather, down side no elevation, trip meter, couldn't look at my custom POI's in the set file, could only see them on the screen, Hated the big screen,I wanted it to be great but it's back to Garmin, they seem suit my needs better than the other brands.
Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present...
I just did a drive buy in simulator
I just did a drive buy in simulator, the camera worked, the icons were all there, well done.

Trying to go back to 6.2 (spontaneous reboots) on nuvi 1490 . Where do I put the .gcd file please? Tried /Garmin and /.system, still boots to 6.3.
