New Garmin, New Maps?

Hi Folks,

I bought a Garmin 1490T last month, just a few days after the latest map updates came out. I called Garmin to get the maps on a disk (old habits) and was told that would not be possible until the 2013 maps come out in May. I waited a week until the end of February to turn it on and get a moving fix to help better the odds I would still be in the 90-day update window when it comes out. My question is this

Can I get two free updates if they both happen in the 90-day window?
Will updating to the current free make it so I cannot also update to the 2013.1 later?

It says this:

You will qualify for the free map update(s) only if you register your product online at http://my.garmin.com either (i) prior to first using your device, or (ii) within 90 days of first acquiring satellites while driving with your device (the "First Satellite Fix"). If you qualify under one of these two conditions, then you will be entitled to receive 1 or more free map update during the 90-day period following the date you registered the product or the First Satellite Fix date, which ever is earlier, if and when map updates are available for purchase on Garmin’s website during such period. You will not qualify for free map updates if you register your product with Garmin by telephone or more than 90 days after the First Satellite Fix.

looks like all I have to do is register the new 1490 with MyGarmin now that I have used it?
