No

Haven't been led astray yet, at least not by the GPS.

Hughes BB went down a few hours

Lost my internet for a few the other day

On Friday March 9, after

On Friday March 9, after driving for about 25 minutes, the map and streets disappeared leaving only street names visible on the nuvi 2460. This happened around 6 pm PST. Fortunately we were almost to our destination since we have the address . The garmin was back to normal when we set it to 'Go Home' 5 hours later. The problem never appeared again. I've always wondered if the solar flares had anything to do with it.

None

Everything worked normally

wait and see

Solar activity is on the rise for the next 3-4 years so be on look out. What happened this week was nothing compared to what's going to happen in the next year or two

Now that you mention it...

I don't remember how long ago that solar flair occurred, but a couple of weeks ago, around noon on a Sunday, my Nuvi 1450 all of a sudden lost satellite connection. I've had the Nuvi for almost two years without any problems, so I was quite surprised when that happened.
After about five minutes, the satellites were reacquired and I haven't had any problems since. Until this thread, I didn't make the connection between the solar flair and my Nuvi's loss of satellites but maybe that's what happened.
Like I said, I don't exactly remember when the flair occurred, but it's awful coincidental.

No Problems for Me

I haven't had any problems in the DC area.

Strange

I turned on my gps a few days ago, I think it was Friday and the screen just turned in circles for maybe two seconds. I just knew it was going to crash. It stoped then took a few seconds to find where she was and then all was ok. Do you think that could of been solar flares?

Concern?

My GPS rolled over in its case last weekend. Maybe it was looking to get a better southern exposure...

I Have not expirenced any

I Have not expirenced any issues as of yet.

No unusual patterns

I run GPS receivers for precision time and frequency services (Trimble Thunderbolt, Datum Tymserve 2100). The system with the Thunderbolt keeps detailed logs of operation, including satellite coverage. I haven't seen anything out of the usual patterns, and I've been looking over the logs for just this kind of thing.

Solar Flares

Reminds me of the mechanic issue; We take the car in for one repair and when we get it back, within the week something else malfunctions;
Surely the mechanic broke something on the car so that he can get some more money out of me;
Perception; Assumption; Deception?

When we don't know, we can surely come up with something; can't we????????
The solar flares did it!!!!!!!!!!

None with a Magellan 1475.

Confused nuvi

Nuvi 1490 could not figure out where it was for about 15 minutes on 03/18 in the afternoon. Sat signal was OK but it got confused and recalculated about 30 times. Then it began to work properly and no problems since.

No problems

All has been well, don't know if this is a product of better technology or the solar flares weren't as bad as media hyped.

Just this week

I was driving from the Wisconsin Dells toward Albert Lea, MN and my gps had me driving in fields while showing I-90 to my right hand side till I made a transition to I-35 heading south. Couldn't explain it and it never did it again on my way to Omaha, NE.

Now that you mention it, mine has been leading me on some wild goose chases lately. To be honest, I'm "into" radio and all of that, and have never seen the disruptions that are often predicted in the media, but it's an odd coincidence about my recent GPS experiences and the recent flares.

Quiet For Now

Things have quieted down a bit now. The current forecasts of solar activity in the near future are for relatively quiet. I am sure we will get some real blasts in the next several months.

More bullsh*t

The predicted chaos never occurred.

This is just one more example of why the G-doomsayers' predictions can't be trusted.

If they can't tell what's happening NOW how can their predictions of doom and gloom be trusted?

With respect; The only real problem we have environmentally-speaking is that we have waaaaay too many mouth breathers walking upright on this planet. We need to get the population numbers down, or mother nature will ultimately do it for us.

Nope. Mine's worked just fine. Thank goodness for our magnetic poles and the ionosphere smile
