A New Triple D File

I created this in csv format only and it includes the meals featured at each location Triple D filmed for the show.

Some locations if they were visited multiple times are listed more than once, if the show was shown under different series names it will include multiple series names.

The locations that went OOB and are CLOSED still appear on the list indicating they are no longer in business.

I also want to encourage your participation in the file Triple D Plus.csv, fans that patronize the restaurants featured in the Triple D show send me a short note with a mini review of the places you have visited to be included in the file (make it short and to the point) for an example you can check the reviews I did of Tampa Bay Brewing Co. The Taco Bus in Tampa and La Camaronera in Miami

The issue you are having with Flaco's Triple D file may be the number of characters he has in the fourth field. Some of those strings are over 800 characters long and your MAC version of POI Loader errors out around 256 characters.

Good call, I truncated the field to 255 characters and the Mac POI Loader created the gpi file without issue.

I guess that's the problem then - unfortunately Garmin don't seem that interested in keeping the Windows version and Mac version at par.

Thanks for the pointer!

Thanks

Thanks Box Car, I suspected it was the loader but couldn't figure out why.

Do you know what the max is for the windows loader? I don't want to exceed that number.

The older versions of Excel maxed out at 1023.

Triple D's I ate at

In one previous post I mentioned "The Mad Greek" as a disappointing place for I have vacationed in Greece and found the food there more pleasing.
The other place was not named but is "Brints Diner in Wichita KS. What I saw there was what looked like the kitchen had not been cleaned in a long time and the food was less than average.
I can't remember all the other places we have eaten at but "The OINKSTER", "BABY BLUES BBQ" and "POLKA" are restaurants we have eaten at more than twice and liked them. The food was good.
In Phoenix AZ we ate at a gas station turned into a fast food place but I can't remember the name for to us it was not that great.

Thanks TheBeachBum

Added one review of Paul's Coffee Shop in Fountain Valley CA.

I haven't tried it since the new owners took over, but I'm told they pretty much kept the same menu items and added a few new items.

doesn't change the fact

that it is new owners that may not prepare the dishes the same way the original reviewed restaurant did. Flaco's right, Restaurant Closed. New restaurant at this location.

Just wanted to follow up on this. I downloaded the new Mac version of POI Loader (2.2.2) and successfully created a POI file. Looks like the problem has been resolved in the new version! Another job I can do without spinning up a windows VM, yay! smile

The Gaffey Street Diner, San Pedro, CA

A locals kind of diner not too far from the Port of Los Angeles and located in a marginal neighborhood in which most of the homes have bars on the windows. The service is friendly and the portions are plentiful, but not necessarily palatable. Over reliance on green bell peppers in many offerings and the worst raspberry ice tea on the planet!

Thanks Flaco!

Flaco, thanks for Triple D Plus - Just downloaded the latest!
