Trouble loading .wav files using POI LOADER

I'm having a problem with .wav files on my new laptop.
I've been using the same custom POI files for several years on a couple of different Garmin GPSr's (C530 first and now a 1450). Several of my custom POI files are defined as TourGuide and have worked perfectly. A couple of weeks ago, the motherboard on my old laptop crapped out and I bought a new laptop. The old machine ran Windows Vista and the new one runs Windows 7.
The first time I tried to reload the POI's, I received the message that V2.7 of POI LOADER was available so I installed it. When I reloaded my custom POI's using 2.7, I got a message that the loader could not convert the .wav file for any of my TourGuide files. So, after blaming Garmin for screwing up the 2.7 POI LOADER, I reinstalled 2.6.1 but still get the same errors (sorry, Garmin) - none of the .wav files can be converted (whatever that means). If I don't include the .wav files, all 7K+ custom POI'S load correctly.
Here are the differences between my old environment and the new one. THE CUSTOM POI FILES THEMSELVES HAVE NOT CHANGED AND CONTINUE TO WORK CORRECTLY. I will admit, however, that I haven't actually tested the TourGuide files to see what audio I may or may not be getting or whether I'm getting the alerts in the first place.
Old: Windows Vista
New: Windows 7
Old: Didn't have Excel installed. I created the custom POI's as .txt files and merely renamed them to .csv. If I displayed a .csv file it displayed as a .txt file.
New: Has Excel installed. The custom POI's are displayed as Excel files.
It certainly seems to me that the .wav files are the issue. In my new environment are there issues using .wav files? Any other suggestions?
sox?
Is it possible that you forgot that you had sox.exe on the old computer and forgot to install it to the POI Loader directory on the new laptop along with installing POI Loader and copying your old POI/icon/wav files?

The other possibility is that you mention trying two versions of POI Loader. Note that the new POI Loader files install to a different location than some of the older versions. If you do have sox.exe installed, it may be in the directory of a POI Loader installation that's not the one you're now trying to use.

Thanks, man, I can't believe I made such an amateurish mistake. I completely forgot about sox.exe. I downloaded it into the POI LOADER folder and everything works (at least I didn't get the errors). Thanks.
