Icons not showing up on my Montana

I upgraded from a Colorado to a Montana. I loaded the same POI file that I used on my Colorado to my Montana. The problem is, some of the icons that I used don't show up properly. For example, I use the "Beer Mug BMP" icon. It does not look like the the icon on my GPS. It looks like it was blown up.
Why would some look fine and some not?

I don't know either of these units but I've had problems on other units when the color depth is too great.
I just downloaded the Beer Mug.BMP file and checked it's properties. It is 24x24 bits but its color depth is 24 bit. Try editting the color depth to 8 bit or 256 colors.

Yes, you should have better luck using indexed palettes (8-bit) than True Color (24-bit).

If you're using a Windows PC, you can use Paint. Open the icon in Paint, then do a Save As where you'll be given the options you need.
