Where is the 2460LMT JCV File

I'm trying to locate the JCV file on my 2460LMT to see if I have the small or large file installed, as I have not had a 'junction view' visible since my purchase of this unit. I'm currently in the Phoenix AZ, area and thinking I should have had 'junction view' activated.

here

Inside the .System folder there is a JCV folder and the file should be there D3191030A.JCV or labeled something similar if you haven't done the last update.

Windows PC?

I assume you're using a Windows PC. If so, go into your Computer's Control Panel and select Folder Options. In the options, you want to change three settings: 1) you want to uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"; 2)you want to check "Show hidden files, folders and drives"; and 3) you want to uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)."

Once you've done this, you should see a directory in your 2460LMT called .system (not system, but .system) and your jcv file may well be there. What size is it? Which version of City Navigator North America NT do you have? Note that jcv files intended for one map version will not work with earlier or later maps.

A search here on the POI Factory will offer advice on obtaining a much larger jcv file from Garmin and installing it to your new nuvi (either internally or on a SD card) to see many many more JVs. Yes, indeed, Arizona is not well represented by some of the smaller JCV files that come from Garmin as the default for some nuvi model lines. I had expected the Greater Phoenix area to have some JVs for you even with a small jcv file though. Up The Hill in Northern AZ, the standard file offered to many nuvi models including my 855 show almost nothing.

Please--before tinkering with a nuvi's files, do a backup of your entire nuvi to a computer hard drive, recordable DVD or something.

In that case, my answer shrinks to and agrees with flaco's wink

Have you found the file?

There is a full screen roughly 750MB jcv file available that should give you many JVs throughout the state.

Check here:

and look for the replies starting with one from wp3Pgi and beyond.

However, note that in the above link, cbwatts writes of his 2460LMT:
New 2460LMT results

I just updated my new Garmin 2460LMT ... which features split screen Junction Views ... and received a 459,865kb JCV file.

The 2460LMT features 8gb of memory, so I'm assuming that this JVC file is the "full" split screen JCV file.

If your file is already about 460MB in size, you should be seeing JVs on interstate highway exits and ramps in Greater Phoenix without having to tinker around with downloading and swapping files.

Found a solution

I changed my Mac into Windows mode and followed your instructions on hiding/ showing certain files and discovered the JCV folder was empty (not sure why) so I copied the 700+mb file to the JCV folder and will see if that works.
