Trying to permanently delete Favorites

I'm trying to remove all my favorites, rename them (in MapSource) to something that makes more sense, then re-upload them to my 560LMT.

When I delete my favorites, then restart the GPS, they all come back! I've already deleted all the .gpx files form the /GPX/archive directory.

There are several threads on this already, but what you see in the Current.GPX file is a copy of data stored in a protected partition within the unit. Once you have copied the copy of the file, you need to delete the favorites from the "wrench" screens. Copy back your modified file to the Nuvi as Temp.GPX. That file will be read and stored as part of the protected data.

I use MapSource also. Transfer favorites to MapSource. Then disconnect your Garmin. Then Tools>My Data> Delete favorites. Then connect your unit to the PC and transfer the edited favorites back to your Garmin..

I had tried to remove and rename the favorites but it did not work. Now that I have done as stated above it worked.
