Jill mispronounces "County"

That can fix the rate issue. Not sure about the name pronouncing problem. Maybe Turbocc has some suggestions.

I'm sure it's just not Jill but all voices will make some mistakes. Regardless of Jills flaws I still like her best.

She always mispronounces a street I sometimes pass,
street name is "brookdale", she says blookdale.

There is a site you can visit to test some of the Garmin voices, select the character, type in the word, then hit the say it button.

I don't know what version of Jill they are using but when I type in Brookdale, she pronounces it just fine, not so on my GPS.

I did a test using the words county and stearns,
stearns was perfect but county sounds like "cottie".

Not sure, but perhaps the inconsistency lies in the particular Nuvi's sound processing software.

On my wifes 265t, Jack says "ounty" without the c, and also says turn left when it should be right when in larger cities. Go figure....

I have a house on Meadowbrook Ln in FL and a place in NY near the Meadowbrook Pkwy. My GPS will only pronounce one the right way. Both spelled the exact way.

Have your tried Garmin Voice Studio? I don't think you can correct all the spoken words:

Well I believe the Jill voice is different depending on which unit it is playing through. The "County" all my 760 and 785 comes out correctly, while "Stearns" is still mike like "Stens". Probably nothing can be done.

Has anyone seen the transparency color problem I see on the 2460? Instead of being transparent it is black.

She could have thought one of the vowels was silent.

Jill has always worked great on my zumo 660. I updated her last weekend when I was home and left again on monday. The latest Jill can't say anything correctly or even during the same sentence. Whatever the speed problem was that they corrected they obviously didn't test it on the zumo 660. I switched to Jack for the rest of this week. Now that I'm home tomorrow I'll reload my backup copy of Jill for next week and wait until I have more time to figure what the heck is going on.

Jill was bad, bud Jack is just as bad.

You learn to live with it. Even provokes a good laugh once in a while.

When I was in Houston a few years ago, I turned on to road FM 1960. This was addressed as "Federated States of Micronesia 1960"

Well I just could not take it any longer. I prefer "Jill" over all the other voices, so I went to my backups and put version 2.60 on my 2460lmt and I happy with the way she pronounces words. Especially "County", but I may put the 2.90 version on when I take a long trip, just to see if there are other issues.

She's not perfect but she's my guiding light.

I think it is funny to hear how jill pronounces some of the words. It can put a smile on your face. We mock her when she does it.

I have a 2450 but don't know what you mean by transparent or black. What is supposed to be transparent?
