Nuvi 1340 Satnav (error during map update)

 

I have just purchased a Nuvi 1340 Satnav and have tried to update the maps. Unfortunately, I got an error message before the process finished and it has also wiped out the maps previously loaded.

Can anyone help me please? I am new to SatNavs and am not particularly computer literate.

Stating the exact wording of the error may get you some help here. Try it again and see if works or fails. If fails again it's best to just call Garmin support. They are pretty good and this is your best bet if you're not particularly computer literate.

You'll need to be more descriptive with the symptoms for any help from this forum or Garmin support. When you go to the doctor you don't just say I'm broke fix me. You state any symptoms or in our case with a GPS, exact details.

I suspect no one replied to you sooner due to your vague description.

In any event she has a 1xxx unit, which means she likely ran out of internal storage space. If Maggie moves unused text, keyboards and voices off the device she should have enough room to complete the update. If not, she can put in a MicroSD and manually put a portion of the map on it.
