Trip Manitoba to Florida

Planing a trip to Florida by car and would like to hear from anyone who has made the trip and has information where the best places to stop at are. Google map shows different route than my Garmin. Which is right or better?
Any good POIs on the way that would be good to stop at?
Thanks for any information you can share!
Route sharing forum anyone?

Atlanta.

Manitoba and Florida are large areas, so it is kind of difficult to estimate your route without knowing your start and destination cities.

I have made the trip a few times from east central Iowa to the Orlando and Daytona areas. My main advice is if your route takes you on I75 through Atlanta, try to plan your stops so you hit Atlanta mid day. Avoid morning or afternoon Atlanta rush hour traffic.

Morning rush lasts till 9:30 and the afternoon starts around 4. Do watch the big message signs around Atlanta for travel times. They are a lot more accurate than the traffic you get on the Nuvi.

The Spam Museum is about 15 miles off I35 in Austin MN, just south of Minneapolis. I guess it depends on what you are interested in. grin

POI's on I-75

When cruising down I-75 here are some stops:

Thanks a lot for the tip. I am in Winnipeg Manitoba going to Orlando FL. I have planed my route and can't get around Atlanta without going way out of the way by the looks of Map Source. My Garmin route will take me through Atlanta at around 3PM so I will have to get up early that morning and try to go through at noon. I am taking 3 days to get there so a little delay is not a problem as long as it isn't going 30 Mph on an Interstate.

We travel often from Illinois to Florida, we sometimes take the Atlanta bypass (285) when we get alerts from our GPS regarding traffic or the time of day we are traveling through Atlanta.

Don’t forget about the differences in time zones as you travel.

I will be stopping for the night in Mt. Vernon so it will be similar to your trips. I will route through Atlanta using 285 and then I will not have to worry about timing. Any traffic delay will be minimal compared to my alternate which added 4 hours. Thanks for you reply! Are there any stops on the way to Orlando you could recommend?
