Trip Planner

Has anyone used the trip planning with the schedule?

I have scheduled several routes for my vacation but have never used this feature before.

Does anyone know what will happen if I don't stick with my time limit?

Trip Planner Will Update Based on Actual Time Spent at Each Stop

I have used the trip planner with scheduled stops several times.

My experience is that trip planner initially gives you its best estimate of your estimated time of arrival (eta) based on your input of destination and scheduled times at each stop along the way.

After each stop, you have to choose the next stop on your trip using the info you stored in trip planner. Based on the time you actually spend at any given location and when you start on the next segment of your trip (not the estimated time you originally entered), the trip planner will re-calculate a new eta.

Thanks so much. This is just what I wanted to know.

Trip Planner

I don't like to be on a time table when I travel. It make you rush to the destinations. Just take my time.

You don't have to travel on a time table.

Trip Planner helps you know about when you need to leave home (or other current location) if you want to arrive at a destination at an approximate time. After you enter your destination, desired arrival time, and stops you know you will have to make along the way (meals, gasoline, restroom, etc.) and the approximate time you will spend at each of those stops, Trip Planner will give you the approximate time you need to leave to timely arrive at your destination.

It is not perfect but I find it to be a very useful tool for a timely arrival at my intended destination.

I am flexible and don't worry about being a little early or late. For me: "Timely" for an all day drive with several stops is +/- 60 minutes.

Planning time for a leisurely lunch and a couple of extended rest stops on an all day drive helps me to leave early and enjoy the trip. cool

I used the scheduler to go to McDonalds today. Put in 12:30 but didn't leave the house till after 1 pm. The schedule was there and I clicked on it and it asked if I were going home or to McDonalds. Checked McDonald's and all was great. It is very neat.

On vacation I wasn't sure how early to leave but when I put in all my stops and then put in the time I wanted to leave it showed I had plenty of time to get there before dark (too old to be out after dark).

It does seem to be a really nice thing. Put in the time you think you are planning on leaving and stoping time and if you do ok and if you don't it just works around your actual time.

Maybe no problem

The day I put in schedules I seceduled 9 trips for an upcoming vacation. After I scheduled the trips I turned the gps off.

The next time I turned it on was in the car on my way to town. That is when it kept calculacting.

Today I was putting in a new route for the trip. After I scheduled the trip i clicked save. It then started calculating the one scheduled route. After that route was calculated it stopped the calculating.

I think I must have turned off the gps too soon, not knowing that it needed to calculate the routes I had scheduled at that time.

I think all is ok!!!!!
