have a great wednesday

and an even better week

Still hot......

In Cincinnati. Looks like we may break a record for the longest streak of over 90 degree days in history. Oh well! Fall is on the way.

Glad to put July to rest

Wettest July in Chicago history, with lots of flooding and heavy storms to deliver the water. OHare airport got over 8 inches of rain in a 24 hour period. If we add up every storm we had in July, over a million people were without power for a day or more due to downed electric lines from the storms. The worst storm had 500,000 people without power for several days.

Good riddance, July! grin

August already

Getting geared up for some travel this month. Time to update the GPS files.

Miss POI is going on vacation.....

Well guys it is that time of year again. Time for Miss POI to go on vacation.

I will be leaving tomorrow and coming back Monday night. I will not be answering emails or doing much on the forums while I am gone.

I usually don't take much of a vacation, I am usually working on the site while I am away. I am not doing that this year.

I am going to relax and enjoy myself and family.

I will be posting the contributor of the week post on Tuesday this next week. Jon will be posting the chit chat thread and holding down the fort while I am gone.

Have a great weekend guys.

Miss POI

Hot to Hot

Traveling now. Arrived in Michigan Monday and was hoping for nice cooler weather than what we left in FL. NOT. It's HOT. Well, maybe a side trip to Canada. Ooops I forgot, to get to Canada from Detroit, you go SOUTH.

Forecast wrong so far.

There was supposed to be a thunderstorm this morning, but looks like that's not a problem for most of the day.

Enjoy your time away.

Log-In

For various reasons, mostly health, took me away from POI Factory. I was looking for a battery to replace my dead Nuvie660 battery, and this web site popped up (thankful for that). I had forgot the name of the web site after being off for a couple of years. I used my old user name and password and it opened right up. Now I've got a lot of catching up to do...................Thanks for keeping my info. stored.

Iowa State Fair sounds like a good one too. They are running at or pretty close to a million visitors. They are also quite famous for being the 'Fair' in the 1945 movie "State Fair" -- that's where the hair of all the young girls bounces up and down in the back. (see the movie if you haven't).

The author of the Book,"State Fair" which became the movie was uncle to the long time "butter cow" lady that passed away earlier this year...
