Deleting Old Maps

I received the North America 2012.1 DVD and installed the new maps. I don't see a way to delete the 2008 map from MapSource. Do I have to uninstall via Control Panel?

Does control panel mean the GPS unit?

It means going to the Windows Control Panel under Start/ Settings/, and then to Add/ Remove Programs, and selecting the map you want to delete.

It's generally not necessary to delete all old maps
In MapSource, usually at the left side of the toolbar line, there is a dropdown which allows you to select the map version of your choice. If older maps are not deleted, it allows you to compare changes between map versions for the areas you are interested in and it is generally not necessary to delete maps unless you are short of storage space on your hard drive. These different maps can also be used to compare travel times and miles between map versions.

Space
The old version on your Nuvi will be overwritten, while the old version on your PC remains.
It is really all about space, if you need more you can delete the old ones.
