Nuvi 660 brightness question

OK, so when I'm using my 660 on battery power, the screen brightness is much brighter then when I have it plugged into the DC outlet. The cord I have with the traffic receiver only has the USB style connector on it and I see nowhere to connect that right into the mount so I'm plugging in to the Nuvi itself. When I plug it in, the screen brightness is much dimmer then if it was on battery which doesn't make sense. Is there an adapter that I'm missing so you can plug the power into the mount instead of the Nuvi?

D.C BRIGHTNESS

HI, I currently use a NUVI 660 also ,From what it sounds like, if you are, directley pluging into the nuvi, with your D.C traffic cord,Then you recieved the wrong cord.Your window mount ,if correct ,has the proper size receptical incorperated ,into it,which is not a standard USB connection.which is the correct size your traffic plug end should be. The direct small [usb] plug on the nuvi660,is for wall a/c power & chargeing. Hope this is some help, e-mail me ,if you need pictures.

660 cord

The Cord I got with my 660 plugs into the Mount not the unit..I got mine last month. I usually run mine at 50% brightness or less and have no problem..

Brightness

I don't notice any difference in brightness with Batt vs. DC.

Brightness

The only real difference I notice with my 660 is the back light goes out when on battery every one minute as I have it set for that, where when it is pluged in it stays bright all the time. I also think once you get over 50% then you won't notice much difference.

I traded ...

my daughter for her 350, and her screen was SO much brighter than my 350! The difference is amazing!

I had lifetime maps, and she doesn't, so I gave her mine. She brought it back to me and said, "Dad, look at the difference, and there was, quite a difference!

Is there a way to brighten mine up a bit, or was this a fluke in her particular 350?
