How does one have both Europe and North America maps on one SDHC card?
Don't both maps have the same file name?

You would typically load them both from MapSource at the same time in the same mapset.
get 2 cards
Get 2 SD cards .. they are pretty cheap nowadays.

City Navigator
City Navigator North America NT came on my Nuve 750.
I bought City Navigator Europe NT to add to the 750. I used Mapsource to add the parts of the Europe map to my 750 as it was too large to add all. Then I used an SD card with the Europe map on it when I needed other areas.
As you can see they each are named differently.
Mary, Nuvi 2450, Garmin Viago, Honda Navigation, Nuvi 750 (gave to son)
