WinZip file problem

I downloaded a software update from Magellan and saved it. I hooked up my explorist600. My PC recognizes it. When I click on RUN, I get this message.

Quote:

Unable to create temporary folder to extract to.

Magellan CSR suggested I buy another computer.
Any other ideas?

Could be permissions...

If you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7 then you could try right-clicking the file and choosing "Run as administrator...". Sometimes that helps.

The POI Loader has always worked fine until today. When I click run for WinZip Self_Exractor I get an error.

POI Loader for WIndows_254.exe
Unable to create temporary folder to extract to,...Possible causes..Do not have proper permission to creat files or folders in your temporary folder. See your system or network administrator.

I deleted the loader, rebooted and downloaded again. Any ideas?

I assume you got that issue solved. How is this different?

With CSR thoughts like that, my suggestion would be to stop calling them wink

More seriously, a Google Search has a lot of suggestions depending on your computer's operating system, the file name being extracted, etc:

PS--What is your operating system and what is the file extension of the Magellan file? If you're using a recent version of Windows and the Magellan file is a .zip, you don't need WinZip. Another thought is to install and use different extraction software such as the free 7-ZIP:

Got it.

First of all, thanks for the link. I'm not sure how this issue is different. I had installed the free version of Advance System Care that Charles recommended. I just bought the Pro version of that program. I let it clean up my pc. I am using XP.
The INSTALL WIZARD for my Magellan update now works perfectly.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
