Road Closures

Is there a way to input info such as road closures into my 1490, so that I would not go that way on a leisurely trip this summer?
Quite often the detour route is a poor option.

You can't program your Nuvi to avoid certain streets or intersections.
Normally, the traffic feature of your 1490 would automatically route you around areas with road closures.
The traffic coverage map for Madison doesn't seem to include Beetown:

The free FM traffic does not have full coverage. Check the traffic coverage map on the Garmin website. It's mostly metropolitan areas IIRC. Map updates MIGHT have the closures, but around here people say it usually takes time for changes on the ground to be reflected in the map updates.
