It is worse in NYC too
I did the walking part in NYC this weekend and it was horrible. The Canyon effect is what I blame it on. Tried it in Chinatown trying to find the Ice Cream factory and was taken past it for almost 3 blocks. The good old ask local people worked great .. except when one guy asked me to give him $5 for the directions
