So Far So Good

So far there has been two software releases to address the issues listed earlier, and what an improvement!!!!!

Hopefully all issues will be resolved in the near future.

Good on software updates, thanks.

Seems like a really nice do-it-all unit. Looking at one for motorcycle use as well as usual auto, and it would certainly be handy for hiking...so glad to see the software issues getting ironed out.

But Wait, There's More!

There was yet another software update the other day.

So make that three updates in about three weeks. Performance is greatly improved.

Still a couple issues that need to be resolved. We'll see how they do in a couple days.

To pricey

When the price drops, I will consider the purchase

Just got the 650

Sure hope I don't have all the issues diesel had. My zumo 660 is ready to die and my 78 screen is to hard to read so got one unit that can be used on my dirt bike, street bike, bicycle, and car. Hope most of the bugs are worked out now.

650T

I have the 650T used mostly for geocaching and some light auto nav when I dont have my 765T with me. Got it in December and have not had any issues with it.

The only thing I miss on it compared to my Oregon 550 is the lack of a rail mount on the rear of the case to add secure ways to carry it. It does have a lanyard slot but I have never really trusted those and the Montana is just to expensive to not have a good grip on.

It's Getting Better

There have been a few firmware revisions and it is better.

I have learned to use the newer mapping. I had older TOPO maps that the Montana didn't like. Replaced the older maps with newer and all is much better. The older maps caused all sorts of problems, freezes, slow downs, etc.

Enjoy the Montana, it is a good unit.
