traffic alerts started working for no reason

I understand that my lighter adapter is the traffic receiver, but after two years, all of a sudden the 660 had traffic information. I decided to roll with it, but as I suspected, the next time I used the 660, traffic was gone. All of that stuff should be included imho as it's free anyway with any droid phone...
Does your 660 have traffic
Does your 660 have traffic alerts? Does the power cord have the antenna for traffic built in? Something is not right - unless you live in an area without traffic service and that is possible and went to an area that does and that is why you started receiving the alerts. After two years without traffic why didn't you ask Garmin why not?

If I remember correctly, the Garmin web site has a page that shows where expected coverage will be. You might check that and see if you are within the coverage area. It might be that some unusual radio propagation temporarily allowed you to get traffic service.
