POI File Errors

Just tried to update my POI files on my Nuvi 350. Using the POI loader 2.5.4, two files were highlighted as having errors in them - Bank of America & Pure Gas.

These were the very latest versions of the files.
The errors were on line 5335 of the BoA ATM file & line 82 of the Pure Gas file.

Just a heads up & hoping they get repaired soon.

Thanks.

send an email to the person that maintains the file? That would be the proper way of getting the file corrected.

Norm

You can also open up the POI

Take a look at line 5335 of the B of A File. It looks like that line can be deleted. You could delete that line and save it, notify the person that maintains the file, and still be able to use it.

Ethanol file updated and still very bad

The ethanol free file shows as being updated today. GBD (maintainer)has no contact tab. This has already been discussed in 2 other posts.

It is not being corrected. There are errors on multiple lines that are to numerous to list.
Miss Poi should be involved to try and contact the maintainer and to correct the file.

I've tried to get the Ethanol-Free Gas POI fixed

Ive tried to get the file fixed in the past and had no success. If you go to the Pure Gas website you will find there are different totals shown for sites offering ethanol free gas between lists.

IMO this is one of those POI that should be taken down until the maintainer corrects the outstanding errors and can provide a file that at least loads without error.

I sent email to Miss Poi

I have sent an email to Miss Poi about the file.

You can't send this person a note he doesn't have a contact tab.I wrote to miss poi about this the last time the file was up dated,I am sure she will take care of the problem.

BoA POI file error corrected

OK, OK, it's fixed grin

The error was actually on line 5334 in the 3rd column. There was a EOL (End Of Line) at the end of the field. The "Raw" csv file loaded into my 660 just fine, but I think Jon still has a problem with the software that parses the files before they are posted, because that one showed an error.

Anyway, I tested the updated DL file and it loaded with no errors. Sorry, I'll verify the DL file from now on.

metricman: We know you take care of your files, the issue is the file for "Ethanol Free Gas". That file has been a problem for quite a while and the maintainer does not fix it. As a indicated in an earlier post, he updated the file, but has not fixed any of the numerous errors. There is no way to contact him. He is probably not aware of the errors.
The file needs to be taken down till Miss Poi can find him.

Just a bit of my weird humor with the "OK, OK" bit.

But ---- if something is wrong with my files, I do appreciate feedback.

I can understand Mis POI's position. If she gives the file over too soon (there may be extenuating circumstances such as illness, etc.) she could really catch some grief from the owner, although technically she is the owner.

There are some files here that really need some updating. The Chick-Fil-A was a good example. Once it took me to a Police station in MD and another time I wound up on a Dead-End street in a development in Hampton. Now that it has been updated, it is way, way better. Thanks to the pair that did that one.
Lesson: Don't trust GPS-Equalizer to be totally accurate for every address you submit.

I just started on IL today and it looks like we may lose a lot of locations there like in MI (247 deleted and only 65 added).

The worst experience is going someplace to get some cash and there is no BofA ATM to be found, because the place closed up for good. That's very aggrevating.

The pure gas file "ethanol free file" has not been fixed. The maintainer is GPD and has no contact info. There is no way to reach him/her.

I noticed that the file was not fixed, I deleted each line that had the errors, that way most of the locations should be good.
