Broke down and got it

And finally gave it a wee bit of a test drive - should make for a good supplement/back-up to my 765t. smile

Thanks for the headsup.

Thanks for the headsup. Though I reminded myself never to spend a ¢ on Navigon product since my previous bad experience...

I'm glad I didn't pay full retail for it

My first Nuvi - a 350 - is still a better device than this app makes my iPhone.

I have Navigon on my iphone.

It is very similar to Magellan or Garmin. But Tomtom always gives me a better route.

Where is it on sale for 50%

Where is it on sale for 50% off?

Around the time of the release of the Verizon iPhone - back when the thread was started - and only lasted a few days.

Have it

I've had the Navigon app for a while now. It's not a 100% perfect replacement for my Garmin 760, but it's an adequate substitute most of the time. I've left the Garmin in the bag on most trips lately and just used the Navigon app. When it's 1/2 price again it's worth it.

Navigon

Could someone tell me the exact name of this app and the price?

To save disk space, you can actually delete states within the ipa, handy if you have a 8G device.

The new "stock" features (as in nothing you have to pay for in-app...) make Navigon the closest thing to my Nuvi 765t that I've used on my iPhone or iPad - I like it better on the iPad - screen size is an advantage. smile

4/19/11 - to 4/28/11

Get 30% off the app; 20% on in-app purchase/add-ons (traffic, etc...) and 10% of their iPhone cradle/window mount gadget.

Changes

I'm curious to test the changes to the traffic alerts. Never put much stock in them before. Contemplating getting the red light cameras. Unclear on how often they will update them.

Double

Double post

forget the cameras ...

Cameras are waaay out of date (AZ)

Verizon phone and iPad users will experience constant zooming in and out for versions 7 and 8. Impossible to look at the map while moving. Not an issue with AT&T units

... as usual, Navigon puts out under-tested products. ... not that they are unique in this matter.

custom POIs

If they ever implement the ability to enter custom POIs that would put me one step closer to moth-balling my Garmin for good.

I'm still a way off from

I'm still a way off from dumping my Garmin 3790 for an IPhone app. I heard that Navigon is the best but I heard issues like the map not being updated and the directions are not accurate most of the time. I know that none of these options are perfect but I like my Garmin for now or until the next great device comes along.

Navigon App

Traffic & 3D view are extra.

Fixed - finally!

"Verizon phone and iPad users will experience constant zooming in and out for versions 7 and 8. Impossible to look at the map while moving."

V8.1.3 released May 25 fixes this problem. ...now works with Verizon units.
