Next big POI project

I know that we are all very diverse in our interests, and I don't want to sound too eager or anything, but what's the next big POI project? What are people interested in?
Since finishing the Olive Garden project I've been trying to brainstorm and come up with another good project but thus far I'm not getting much inspiration. I was hoping that if we start throwing out some posibilities we could come up with something good.
Next Big POI
How about a POI of all the This Old House Renovations accross the country.
Amen
I'm far more impressed with city profiles created by locals, giving the hot spots to go, and how to get there easily. I'd like to see stuff done for San Francisco, Chicago, LA., Philly, etc.
I don't see the attraction for knowing where e.g. Home Depot, is located in every state of the country, given that I know the one in my city and that's all I really need to know. Plus the GPS' have a decent file of big places, like restaurants already, so it seems like duplication to me.
GC
I also agree that the ones at the local level are more beneficial than the National Chains (food, hardware, shopping etc)after all the big restaurants and other well known busines are already loaded in the GPSr POI.
I'm working on a combined list for restaurants in my area broken down by food type, I'm not adding the restaurants chains that we are all familiar with but the local restaurants that visitors don't know their names and will be easier to find in their respective food categories.

A fantastic idea actually
How about a POI of all the This Old House Renovations accross the country.
Bill that is actually a great idea since it is a unique POI you will never find in any preloaded POIs of any unit, has definite addresses you can go to, and would be a neat treat to be driving somewhere and suddenly get an alert to a formal This Old House project.
I wonder how hard it is to get the addresses/locations for old episodes?

Wild, Untamed, Underground Caves
Being a caver and knowing where quiet a few caves are located, I agree it would be nice. However, caves have enemies. These are known as rock hounds. There are caves that I have helped map that are now devoid of alot of the preties that were once there. Those people who think that the light shining through a "baccon" fomation looks real good in their house, don't think or don't care if it was stripped from a cave after remaining untouched for hundreds if not thousands of years. The second proble is land owner relations. Some land owners don't mind a few kind people coming on their property and viewing their cave. However lots of people or a few rude people can ruin it for everyone. More and more caves each year are lost to land owners shutting off access.
Sorry, don't mean to get on my soapbox, but I thought you all should know the reasons.
On a personal note, this is my first post and this looks like a realy great group of people. I hope to be a POI contributor in the future.
Welcome to the group, it is

I'm creating a list of AAA & CAA offices
I couple of ideas might be related to American Automobile Association (AAA). This might include a listing of local offices by state or a file of AAA apporved repair facilities. Another idea might be AAA rated and approved hotels or restaurants. The downside of these last two files is that they would have to be periodically updated as rating changed.
Just a thought. Hope it helps.
I have a printed directory of all AAA and CAA locations, and was planning to create a POI file. My Garmin does have AAA clubs pre-loaded, but, like most POIs, the list is either imcomplete or outdated.

Military bases/Installations
I work for the military as a civie.
A POI of all bases would be a great POI. All the ones that are public knowledge anyway.

Campgrounds/RV parks
Yes, but all of them. I have Coast to Coast, GNP, Passport America, KOA in my nuvi, but that's probably less than 10% of them. So I have to use Woodall's directory, and Trailer Life CD's for the rest. Most directories have lat/long because people need them to set up their satellite dishes.

How about a Campground Guide like AAA /CAA has for RVers
This would be a great POI addition.
I think Magellan has one!
Can a Magellan file be tarnsfered to the Garmin type file?

Scrapbook Stores
My wife has been bitten by the Scrapbooking Bug. How about US and Candian scrapbook stores?
Curling Clubs
Here's a good one for all you southern rednecks. Haven't checked, but I'd venture very few GPS units will have many or any curling clubs listed. The challenge here will be figuring out what a curling club is for many of you. Hint- It's a winter olympic sport. Happy searching A free six pack to the first location posted from Florida. LOL

US Scenic Byways
The US DOT will send great information regarding the scenic byways in the US, and it's all free material. The best is National Geographic's paperback book "Guide to Scenic Highways and Byways: the 275 Best Drives in the US". It's 463 pages, about the same size as a N.G. periodical- and sells for over 25 dollars at a bookstore. US DOT provides them free.
There are many roads that are state forest roads and do not show up on MapSource- Oregon has several. Man, if someone knew how to get all of that kind on info loaded into a POI file, it'd be very cool.

campground files
Hello:
I am building a website that links to Google maps to post ALL US Federal state and local campgrounds and has POI download for them all too. I plan to have it done BEFORE next summer. Have a look at the states that are now done at www.pubcamp.info .
I am very dedicated to this project and it WILL be done and it WILL be the most complete public campground file in existence when I get done with it!
