Only thing I know of is the owners manual that shows if your unit has a mp3 player.Plus the specs page on Garmin page https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134 for the model.Don't believe that Garmin will tell you or even know about the wav file in most cases.A member here posted about using the wav file and that was some time ago.
New units after the 295w don't have mp3 player so wav files are now very popular. http://www.poi-factory.com/gps-sounds
