Hawaii coverage / maps?

I have a Nuvi C320 and Nuvi 205. I also have TomTom 125 and TT 140. Do you guys know if I'll have any issues using these in Hawaii?

Do the maps only contain Continental US, or do they include Hawaii?

Search

Do a POI search and say near Honolulu and see what happens...My maps include Hawaii and Alaska as they are part of the US.

Yes I need to do that. Both

Yes I need to do that. Both of the batteries on the TomTom are dead - TomTom's batteries suck.

My wife has my Garmin C320 and my mom has my Nuvi 205, so I need to steal those back from them for my trip LOL...

Was hoping to get some answers here before I steal my GPS back... wink

If you updated your maps on the Nuvi, the mapset may have been too large to fit on your GPSr. In that case you were given a choice of what areas to load. The remainder could optionally be loaded on your memory card.

Garmin StreetPilot c530, Mapsource

Big Island

If you are going to the Big Island (Hawaii), be aware the GPS works will for the major roads but the small roads presents some problems. I used coordinates from Google Earth to get places not on the major raods.

My son borrowed my old 260w when he went to Hawaii. He said it worked fine ,,, but some back roads were a little be off

Have used

Have used a Nuvi in Kauai for 5 years now. It is very accurate both in the towns and on the roads around the island.

Thanks all. The TT125 does

Thanks all. The TT125 does have Hawaii POIs, so I guess I'll just take that.

I'll leave my Garmins with my wife and my mom so they can use it for now. smile

I was in Honolulu for a week

I was in Honolulu for a week in November and my Garmin 680 worked flawlessly.

I pay for the lifetime map updates and do so when they come out... but Garmin's maps include the island of Ohau(sp)... the other islands only have the main roads (check Garmin's site for more info)... but the main island and city of Honolulu is perfectly covered. Since I could not pronounce the street names over there, I just assumed that Garmin was saying it correctly?

Have fun... the weather, service and people were great.
