Odd Nuvi 1690 problem

 

Yesterday I noticed that there was no signal for the NuLink service, merely just an "X" there. I know it was working on Friday 10/3. Unit has only been registered since June of this year, so it's not an expiration issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I thought I'd check here before trying to contact Garmin. Everything else on the unit seems fine.

NuLink uses AT&T for a carrier- perhaps AT&T is having a local issue where you happen to be at the moment.

My wife and I were on a trip yesterday. Approx 120 miles from home, and then back again. NuLink did not receive a signal anywhere.

Spoke with a Garmin rep. He advised installing and running Webupdater. It did install an EcoRoute file, which restore the functionality of NuLink and the battery recharging issue. Does not make sense, but I'm happy it's working.
