For the past 2 hours I've been trying to install a Redlight Icon on my 885. The only thing I get is a default dot. I've done this 100's of times before but it just won't come up. I'm also having trouble with the custom sound. Can anybody help me please
Have you tried to remove the
Have you tried to remove the battery or hold the off switch in the off position for 10 seconds to clear the memory before changes will take effect? This has been reported in the past.

When you download the icon
When you download the icon and sound files, you will have to change the names of those files to exactly match the redlight file except for the extension.
Example:
My_redlight.csv (the redlight file)
My_redlight.bmp (the icon)
My_redlight.mp3 (the sound file)
What ever your redlight file name is, the other files MUST match exactly except for the extension.
Tight lines
removed battery
Just tried both ways and still the same.
The biggest problems with
The biggest problems with the alerts and icons not working are the files not being named the same except for extensions and having double extensions. Double-check each of them. The best way to prevent double extensions is to go to your folder options in the control panel and click view then find hide extensions for known file types and remove the check mark. Click ok and apply. This is for Windows XP.
Note if you don't have computer set to show extensions and you type the extensions along with tne name. You don't see the double extension.
If you prefer to leave setting as is just type the name in and not the extension. The extension will take care of itself.

procedure
I download the redlight file this site like I've done manytimes before. I also download a sound file and a icon. I then name each file the same:
Redlight_Camera.csv
Redlight_Camera.bmp
Redlight_Camera.mp3
No problem with the .CSV file, it's just .bmp and .mp3
Double check your bmp.Select
Double check your bmp.Select one of the camera locaions on your gps.Don't touch go.Touch map at bottom and see what icon shows.
When you click on the mp3 file on your computer does it give you the voice alert?
Once you load the files you then remove the battery or hold the off switch in the off position for 10 seconds to clear the memory .You sid you tried this and didn't make any difference correct?

Why confuse people with 5 files named setup.... Just look at the icon. You'll know the difference. LOL
