Considering how well Garmin did with a phone
They'd be foolish not to get an app ASAP. And when people realize that they might be better off with a stand-alone GPSr, if folks had/liked a garmin app, they'd go for a garmin stand-alone.

There is a Garmin Droid App already
I just got a Samsung Fascinate (a droid phone). When going to the Google Map application, then selecting the Google Navigate, it will bring up the navigation--the splash screen reads "Powered By Garmin" -- right now I think it is still in Beta but it would make sense that they are working on a IPhone one too.

Different Splash

My splash screen using the Android Incredible does not have anything about Garmin. Even the website dedicated to Google Navigation does not mention Garmin:
