Haunted Houses 2010.........bomb fires, corn mazes....

"Haunted" roads

Allbiz, and other interested folks,

Do the wayward spirits of people who die in highway accidents linger near the site of the accident? Haunt houses or places near the place where they made an untimely transition?

Are you looking for commercial attractions like the Winchester house in San Jose, CA?

Regards,
Cactusmitch

Haunted Hamburger

There is a place in Jarome, Arizona called the Haunted Hamburger. Great place for hamburgers and deserts. The people who work there swear it is haunted. I'll get the coordinates next time I am there.

BOMB Fires? !!! OMG!

Is that caravan of flashing lights and sirens Homeland Security, FBI, and ATF I see coming? wink

There's some amazing BONfires for several miles along a small town up river from New Orleans every year, but that's done on Christmas Eve to light the way for Papa Noel. Search the web for Grammercy, bonfires, and Christmas to learn more about this colorful local tradition. And if you go, plan to enjoy some great tasting Cajun food served at the Fire Department--who BTW, would really be upset if anything larger than a few firecrackers were ever buried in one of those magnificent bonfires.

Bomb fires

There used to be a lot of bombfires in the South Bronx. Nothing left to blow up now.

Perhaps you should check your own spelling before you point out the errors of others. There's only one "m" in Gramercy.

You're At Least Partially Right

Good catch and presuming that's more an observation than a lecture, taken as your attempt to convey how to improve upon a key search term I recommend, not a post only to chastise someone and take a thread off topic.

OTOH, if it needs an explanation, the purpose was to have a little fun with this "new" word while sharing some info about a memorable local tradition, not to belittle the OP for an error, if that's your point.

Note that my typo didn't give the town's name a new spin on its meaning, but if you or anyone else can find humor in my typo(s), then have at it and make your own humorous comment (about the typo), if you'd like. I'll chuckle with you and am sure others would enjoy it more than a lecture--which presumably, that wasn't.

I'll even offer my apologies to the OP if taken other than it was intended. So if everyone's satisfied now, I'll fall back in line and see what I can learn here about bombfires or whatever else comes up.
