Radio Station Info Site

This may be old news, but for the folks wanting to create specialized radio station POI's, the Website Find Radio Stations at http://www.findradio.us/ gives the station location in latitude and longitude in the form DD.mmmmm, just right for makin' them files.

Yes, but they do have a limit on the number of queries that one can do in a day.

The Radio Guys created POIs that provide locations for all AM and FM stations in the US. There are further breakdowns (additional POIs) by type, such as NPR, Jazz, etc. Much of the radio genre comes from searches in the site you mention. If anyone wants a POI posted for a specific type of station, we can provide almost instant feedback if you supply a list of call letters for those stations. For example, in creating the Jazz station POI, we searched the website you mention(and others) to find Jazz and then copied a list of the call signs. (Best if separated into AM and FM. We merge that data into our database and the output is a .csv file ready for posting.
I find these files very useful when traveling and trying to stay with a particular type of station i.e. NPR.
The output from these databases is not 100% accurate as stations are listed with a certain genre even if they only have one program on per day. In other words, a station will appear under several genres i.e. classical and NPR, etc.
