Wipe Clean

Well it looks like what ever I do I can't seem to get rid of some of my Custom POIs. How do you just wipe it clean and just start over?

.

Find the /POI folder on your unit & delete all *.gpi files contained within that folder. Also search the unit and SD Card (if one is installed) for any additional *.gpi files as well. After backing them up and noting where they went within the folder structure, delete those as well.

If you have a Mac.Run

If you have a Mac.Run poiloader and select tab to remove custom pois.Empty trash bin before dis-connecting gps from computer. Then re-boot gps.

Windows, connect gps to computer.Open up the drive, click Garmin folder,Poi folder and delete poi.gpi file. That will remove all custom pois.

POI removal on 885?

I am not sure why you started another thread on this instead of adding to your previous one. But you remove Custom POI's in the way DorkusNimrod and Charlesd45 explained in the other thread. If you are asking about your nuvi 885T, you may also need to remove and re-install the battery when you restart it.

POIs can be reloaded

If you originally ran Poi Loader to load the POIs into the GPSr, they have to exist in a folder and sub-folder somewhere on your PC. Go to that folder and delete the POI files there, or every time you run Poi Loader, they will be loaded again.

Battery

Sorry about the new thread, but removing the battery did it thanks..

DorkusNimrod's answer should be all you need.

The .gpi files in the /Garmin/POI directory on all of the disks you see added when you plug your Garmin unit into the PC's USB need to be deleted.

.

The OP created a new thread and has solved the problem.

Miss POI - could you merge the OP's two threads. Thanks.

Luck?

I delete them manually. Seems when i let poi loader do it, hasn't always deleted the file. Plus i don't have to reopen the poi loader again.
