Traffic icon turning grey still exists on 765t

I rarely see the traffic icon at all - but, I spend the majority of my time where there are no radio stations providing the data feed. Could be you're just not getting data.

It may be that you're actually having connection problems which may be entirely possible. If you access the GTM status page by pressing and holding the speedo dial, then hitting the Next button til you reach it, you can verify if traffic data is being transferred by watching the values at the bottom-right section of the screen. Here, you will see the number of traffic messages being transferred along with the time between each. If these are stationary for longer than a minute or so, then you should be getting a gray icon or even none at all if no data is being received.

That said, I've had no issues with mine since the 4.00 update.

I am not sure that the traffic icon is accurate. What are the numbers next to it supposed to mean For example, is 00:04 mean that there are 4 minutes of traffic or 4 miles of traffic. Thanks.

The number displays the traffic delay time.

I got MSN Direct for $19.99 for the rest of its life. It works very well in Toronto area and has better coverage. No issues now for the next year and half.

I thought there were problems with ti too for a while. BUT...We just flew back from Minneapolis yesterday. While there, we rented a car and I used my 765t GPS from our hotel for our 45 minute drive from Maple Grove to Cottage Grove. The traffic icon worked like a charm! But around where I live in NC, yes, it is greyed out some, but I think it is because of weak FM signals where I live, since I live sorta on the fringe of the coverage area. In Greensboro, the icon was green and active, but my trip West, it gradually turned grey. Just my observation. Yes, I did do the firmware update and it fixed the screen touch accuracy. So, I think the grey icon is more of a matter of FM transmitter weaknesses then GPS troubles. This is my observation of what I see going on with my 765, but overall, I am happy with it!! Minneapolis has great traffic reporting and navigation for out of towners. The roads there seem to always be buzy, and our commute to catch a plane was a nightmare, so we need good navigating, telling what lane to be in. If you arent from there, getting from place to place seems complicated, even with GPS! Lane assist was great!!!!

Thanks for your feedback. After new firmware, now it displays message about poor MF reception. But I never had any issue with older firmware 3.60. It will stay green.
But now, I am ok with MS Direct.
