Maps up to date, but getting "Maps Out Of Date" error message

I am occasionally getting an error message on my Nuvi 760 that my maps are out of date. I have the lifetime map updates and keep it updated. Is there anything I can do to stop these spurious error messages?

Thanks

Did you ever (perhaps by accident) send maps from MapSource to your nuvi?

When you go to Settings/Wrench > Map > Map Info does more than one map show there?

Connect it to your computer in Mass Storage Mode and look for a file named GMAPSUPP.IMG in the garmin drive.

I think it's bug

I get the same thing on my 765t - never sent a map from Mapsource/Roadtrip to my device. I got the splash screen about old maps on mine on the very first boot after installing the newest maps.

I don't remember loading a map from mapsource, but there is a map of one region on there. Obviously, that is what I did. Is it safe to just delete the GMAPSUPP.IMG file?

Try un-checking it before you delete it. Make sure you're deleting the right map.

Yes.

And after that, copy it to your computer instead of just deleting it from the unit (just for safety).

Done that.

I've moved the offending file to my desktop computer. Now I only have the most recent map listed as available in the NUVI. I am assuming I won't get that message again. Time will tell.

Thank you,
Bobbo
