1490T want to get Route Numbers

Is there a way to get Route Numbers displayed on the screen vice the road name equivelent. Before I got the Nuvi 1490T, I was using a TomTom and it gave me the route numbers (i.e. PA Route 74) which was very nice. The Nuvi gives me Carlisle Road instead of Route 74. On any map it Route 74. I didn't even know it was called the Carlisle Road. Any ideas? Tks!

In practice this can be quite frustrating since the name of the road known to you may not be the one recognized by the GPSr and visa-versa.

Addresses in the phone book are on Route 74 or on Carlisle Road?

On google maps, route 74 and Carlisle are not always exactly the same. I even seem to see that Carlisle Read is Main Street for a few blocks.

Given the above, I think I would prefer the actual street name. But, wouldn't it be great if the unit alternated between the two name?

Route Number Prefered

I agree with you, it would be great to be able to alternate between the two. Untill this GPS, I never knew that a section of Route 74 was called the Carlisle Road. Well, at least I learned something, so I guess I still can be tought.
