I have a 265T that has a picture viewer function in it.
Can I put pics on a micro sd card and plug it into the sd slot on the garmin and then what? Do I just go to the viewer function and somehow the unit will know there are pics to view. I did notice that there are some pics in the viewer of bldgs. and landscapes; is this where I would view my pics from?
Thanks for your help....Cy
If you can help I will need a step by step instruction.(as I am as dumb as a brick when it comes to this stuff)

You can use a micro sd in an sd adapter. You will need to make a folder named Garmin on the card and under the Garmin folder make a JPEG folder. Put the jpeg photo files in that folder and the unit will find them.
The demo photos that you see are on the units jpeg folder.
no adapter needed
I think the 265T uses the micro-SD format and does not need and will not accept a micro-SD adapter.
If you browse the Garmin file directory while it is connected to a PC, you will see the Garmin sample photos in their own directory. You can place your photos there if you want, and can remove the sample photos to regain space.
If you want to use an external card, I would suggest creating a folder with the same name as the internal folder on the card. The Garmin will find it. I'm not sure if a sub-folder is really needed, but it will help you keep the card directory structure orderly.
You may want to crop the pictures to better fit on the small 265T screen size. I also suggest reducing the number of pixels; as there is no good reason to store 8 meg or 12 meg photos for display on that little screen. I'll typically crop my photos to 2X or 4X times my nuvi screen size. That gives a good photo for viewing and even allows me to zoom in a bit without loss of resolution, but allows for much smaller files. A good free program that will help you do this is IrfanView.

As jjen said, you'll need to use an SD adapter for the micro-SD card to fit in the 265's slot.
The pictures can go anywhere on the card, and Picture Viewer will find them.
I use a folder named Photos.

Don't have one so ..
Don't have one so can't say from personal knowledge but the manual for the Nuvi 205 215 255 265 275 285 says "memory card slots on units can be equipped for an SD card or a MicroSD card.
No indication was given as to which unit was which.
The manual does give directions on the picture viewer.

265T uses microSD card; 265WT uses SD card

Thanks jgermann for pointing that out.
Re-reading the post, Frovingslosh was correct, the question was about a 265T, which takes a microSD card. The 265WT (like the one sitting in front of me) takes an SD card.
