cameras, yes, but no red lights

I believe they have the

I believe they have the wrong priority of what they need first.

No light

I doubt that a traffic light would make any difference.

Typical

Anyone who has lived in or visited an Asian metropolitan area knows that this is typical. Right of way is a suggestion rather than the law. I'm surprised that the pedestrians turned their backs to the intersection. Love the Mahjong music.

Right of Way?

That is good!!! Talk about taking your chances!

cameras yes

It doesn't look like anyone even tries to see whats coming just blindly drives through hoping for the best.

It does not appear they are going all that fast in the video.

I wonder if it is because drivers just weren't paying attention.

Crazy

I can't believe that the cars just run down people standing there.

wow...... thankfully most of the collisions were fairly slow speeds...

Roll the dice and see what

Roll the dice and see what happens... smile
Minute 2:05, WTF is the driver thinking? Hmmm... I wonder what will happen if I run him over.

A few stop signs would not hurt

These accidents question the right of way on the roads in china. Don't they use stop signs, or if they do are they just ignored?

What's the Law?

Besides needing traffic signs, I wonder if they even have clear, useful laws governing traffic...

computer driven cars

No red lights, a disaster:

But,

..the following clip clearly shows, as suggested in previous posts, that red lights did not make much of a difference and that some drivers were not paying attention. It is also apparent, from this and other widely circulated RLC clips, that there are certain aspects of human behavior that transcend common sense, to a point where extreme physical harm is a result. I don't think that this lapse in common sense is not restricted to age, race, gender or location. It is what people do.

It would seem that there is not much that one could do to prevent oneself from becoming a victim in many of the above situations. It is a matter of being in the wrong place at the right time. I would guess, staying focused and to "watch out for the other guy" would be the best defense, but, in the end, it's mostly a crap shoot
Maybe computer driven vehicles is the answer. ...Good luck!
