Numaps Lifetime Maps dropped $1 on Amazon.com

Garmin Numaps Lifetime has dropped from $84.99 to $83.99 on Amazon.com. I am still waiting for one of those special $69.99 offers.

Me too. I'd jump on that deal...

But I wonder how much longer Garmin can keep charging for updates when TomTom has started including lifetime maps with their units ?

Look what you just missed . . . .

Saw It

I saw it but I would prefer to get the lifetime. If (when?) the $70 deal comes to pass, that is basically the cost of two $30 updates.

I just checked Amazon

I just checked Amazon (5/15/2010) and the price was $79.99 for NuMap lifetime North America update

thanks for the info

thanks for the info

Jeez

Why are people moaning over $10? I'm in Canada and had to buy my Lifetime maps for US$120 + taxes. I can't get the sweet deals the US does, and missed the GPScity.ca deal at CDN$89. So what.

What the heck? You buy a $200+ device, and then complain over a small fee for maps? Why did you buy it in the first place? Why complain now?

This morning, the Numaps Lifetime Online code is $79.79.

Getting close!

As for quibbling about $10, it is still $10 and that can pay for lunch and coffee one day. Since the updates are not a must item have at a given moment, I can wait. Since I know what the lowest price has been ($69.99), I am free to wait for it to return. If I absolutely had to have an update now, then I would take the plunge.

Waiting....

Eventually you're just going to have to bite the bullet and buy the Lifetime subscription wink

Whenever I am "waiting" for the best deal, I seem to lose out. No matter WHEN I buy it, within a week I find a similar product advertised for slightly less -and I feel like I was ripped off! But if I wait too long, the item will be discontinued mad Grrr.

I bought a Lifetime subscription last year at $89 and thought it was a good deal then. It was. And I have had 3 updates since. Sometimes you have just got to take the plunge!!!

Nuvi 255 with Lifetime Maps - $129

When (if) I purchase my next dedicated navigation unit, a combo deal like this will probably be what pulls me in: http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-3-5-Inch-Portable-Navigator-Lif...

Beach Camera through Amazon.

Good buy

I drive a 2000 Honda Insight that gets on average about 68 MPG on my commute. I used to do much better before they went with 10% MTBE, followed by 10% Ethanol, year round. I have gone a month without filling up and it was a pleasure to drive by those $4.25/gallon price signs in July 2008.

How does it compare to Prius?

68mpg, that's quite something.

I thought the price dropped

I thought the price dropped to $1 on Amazon. Disappointed, LOL!!!

A dollar drop is pretty funny. But I guess if it kept doing that for a month, it would be a great deal!

Exactly! And I apply that saving ethos to other purchases as well. As I said at the top, I am currently up-to-date with 2011.10 and I can wait since the 2011.20 update will not be before July at the earliest. Getting lifetime now would be useless as there is nothing to update to.

I keep wondering when google

I keep wondering when google or someone will offer it as part of a freebie on a phone as a tool. I thought I saw somewhere it was a download to a phone for $50 but its a start.

Garmin should consider making better hardware and more features rather than map updates - its good to hear the competition beginning to up the stakes with free updates.
